Halloween

We decided to let Owen decide what he wanted to be for Halloween this year. We took him to the Spirit Halloween store and he decided that he wanted to be DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba. I was hoping he would choose something cute like a monkey or lion. I feel like it is my last year to have him be kind of a baby. Instead he chose DJ Lance Rock and wore an orange jumpsuit! Before going trick or treating we went to Aunt Pam's house and took some pictures of Owen and Xavie together. We let Owen go trick or treating, but only to a few houses. I knew if we had a big pumpkin full of candy at the house I would end up eating it. He had fun trick or treating, but was scared of some of the kids. He was scared of kids with scary masks, and anyone who had their face fully covered. I don't think he realized that there was a person under there!

Being polite is confusing!

Lately we have been teaching Owen about being polite...saying please, thank you and your welcome. He does very good saying please, but needs to be reminded about saying thank you and your welcome. He knows that you say your welcome after saying thank you. When I say "Owen say thank you" he says "welcome"! He thinks that since thank you has already been said he is supposed to say your welcome. It is so cute I can hardly correct him!

5 year anniversary

For our 5 year anniversary Jeff surprised me with a hot air balloon ride. It is something that I have always wanted to do but never really had the reason to spend the money to do it. We drove to Topeka and arrived there at 5:30. They were starting to set up the balloon. We were in the air by 6 o'clock. The weather could not have been more perfect. It was about 70 degrees and sunny. Unfortunately about 20-25 minutes into our ride the wind decided to stop blowing so we were at a standstill over a field. We had to land because without wind it is kind of hard for a hot air balloon to travel anywhere. I was disappointed that the ride was so short, but I can't make there be a nice gently wind. On our way home we stopped at a Mexican restaurant for some dinner. Owen stayed home with Aunt Pam, Uncle Chris and grandma and grandpa while were gone. He always has fun getting attention from so many people!
